Today marked the last day of school before recess week for Drew, and the last day before school started for Aly.
As we had to go back to school for an exchange talk today, we decided to indulge in a lil good food and fun today!
For lunch, we went to Candour Coffee @41 Beach Road to try their Rakki Bowl! The Truffle Wagyu Beef Don was $12.90 for the small sized bowl.
We both ordered the same bowl, and I ordered my favourite drink (non-caffeinated of course!) from the place – Lavender Yuzu Fizz.
Drew and I really liked the Beef from the don and the truffle taste was fantastic – not too overpowering and not too mild at the same time. There was even little truffle bits and flakes mixed into the don that allowed for some interesting texture.
The beef slices were succulent, juicy and smoked to perfection. It was medium rare, which melted into your mouth. Portion-wise, the beef slices were generous (100g) and the rice could have been a little more.
After Lunch, we went to catch an impromptu movie -The Black Panther @ The Cathay.
Not going to post any spoilers here but the movie was just rad and so so cool. The tech and stuff were amazing and the movie displayed such a wide range of African culture.
Below are a few goofy pictures Drew and I took that were inspired by the movie.
Drew rates it an 8/10, but Aly rates it a good 9/10 for the amazing cool tech/colors + futuristic ideas. The fight scenes were a lil draggy and the humor not very well delivered but overall it was still worth the trip to the cinemas 🙂 + student price why not 😉
